Implementing drones into daily utility operations is challenging. This session will focus on how to organize inspection and assessment UAS missions. We will use software that help utilities setup inspections and assessments and walk through how to get the most out of your assessment and inspection missions. Using data from a utility GIS system, we will walk through setting up flights, plan the inspection and assessment mission, how to load the flight plans into the UAS, locate any FAA restrictions in your flight path, and manage the on-board cameras. We will share how to manage the data your captured during the flight, how to analyze it, and create reports.  We will also cover safety and give some insight of how drones may be used going forward by utilities. This is an in-depth look at how to automate your UAS operations based on real utility data and missions flown.
