A Test Case for Conservation Voltage Optimization
Progressive installations of RF AMI implementations allow access to real-time downline system voltages and responsive system voltage optimization back at the substation. Lower voltages can mean lower usage for consumers. Lower usage typically means reduced revenue. But are there mitigating benefits that justify an aggressive CVO program? In Kentucky, a G&T is teaming with some distribution cooperatives to determine if CVO can be implemented that will make sense for all vested parties. Not theory, we measured it.
