The Technology Showcase, improved for 2008, offered exhibitors an exclusive opportunity to share their knowledge and expertise about their company’s new technology, product and/or service to TechAdvantage Conference attendees and other electric cooperative professionals. Participants had the attention of technical staff, CEOs, directors, finance and marketing staff—the decision-makers who recommend and authorize procurement at co-ops.

The Technology Showcase consisted of two parts:

• A two-dimensional poster display that was visually engaging, incorporating images (graphs, maps, or other illustrations) with concise textual support so the poster stood on its own without explanation. Posters were displayed in designated areas on the expo floor and presenters were assigned a time to “staff” their poster in order to answer attendee questions.

• A poster session, where exhibitors fleshed out the visual aspect of their posters and engaged the audience by answering questions and holding a dialog. Poster sessions were intended to provide an intimate forum for discussion and exchange. The discussion focused on further amplification or explanation of the core ideas.
