Presenting Your Poster
What is a Poster Session?
The intention of poster sessions is to provide a second platform for exhibitors to build awareness for their product/service/solution, while allowing attendees to peruse the information at their leisure. Ideally, a poster will spark the attention of an attendee so that he/she seeks out the exhibitor’s booth for more information.
A successful poster is visually engaging enough to draw attention, while informative and technical enough to stand on its own—giving attendees a flavor for your business or product. A poster is not an advertisement, rather, it is a concise textual and graphical analysis of your solution—why should the co-op care, and why should they seek more information from you.
Poster Guidelines
Poster Size
- 44” High x 92” Wide (no exceptions)
Design Tips
- Graphics and copy should be visible from 3 ft. away
- Posters should provide a clear sequence for viewing the information: use numbers or arrows and make certain graphics clearly relate to the information.
Printing Tips
- Print in 1 piece (do not print multiple pieces to fit together)
- Use a material that is thicker and matte finished (consider laminating your poster)
- Call the exposition services/decorating company to print your poster. This way, it’s already at the expo when you arrive, and it’s the correct size.
What to Bring
- A small sign with your booth number (laminate this and stick it to your poster or set on your table)
- Business cards
- Marketing collateral or information packets
- Velcro for mounting the poster
What the TechAdvantage Expo will provide you
- 4’x 8’ poster board
- Skirted table to display your business cards, marketing collateral, and booth number
- 4” square “poster location number” for attendees to easily find you
Participation Guidelines:
- All presenters must be registered exhibitors at TechAdvantage Expo to be eligible.
- All presenters are required to “man” your poster during the 30 minute time-slot assigned. This schedule is sent to attendees and they will use this to guide them through the sessions.
- Set your poster up ON-TIME. Although you’re session may not be until Saturday (February 14th), attendees will be walking through the expo Friday evening at the Expo Grand Opening—so all posters must be in tact and ready.
- We suggest you bring your poster as “carry-on” luggage. Otherwise, ship it via special courier such as FedEx or UPS for delivery to your hotel room on Thursday, prior to the show. Note on the address label: “Hold for Guest Arriving ___date___.”
